Creation of the Underdark

Now that Tamae had control over the dragons, the orcs, and the drows, he needed to assemble and prepare an army to attack the world. He therefore created the Underground, better known today as the Underdark. First came the orcish lord, Orog. He built camps and factories as well as barracks in the Underground. Then came the orcish prince, Praugh. Praugh used Orog’s underground bases but built them larger and stronger. The orcish king, Krag, built small tunnels to communicate with the different orcish camps. Then came the drow priestess, Drow. She didn’t only build camps and tunnels. She built cities and castles in the Underground. Most of these cities and castles were found beneath the orcish encampments. The drow princess, Drider, built cities of magic and great factories in the second layer of the Underground, which was expanding. The drow queen, Lolth, built great spider webs and portals to Hell with the magic she had learned as an elf.

When the orcs and the drows, also known as the two Prime Evils, had created their part of the Underground, came the third Prime Evil. The hatchling Ache built small dragon nests and playgrounds for himself in the fourth layer of the Underground. These caves and tunnels were even greater than those of the drows. The dragon, Dragoon, built even greater caves and tunnels and amassed great wealth. Beneath the four levels of the Underground came a fifth. The Underground of the Wyrm. Drake, also known as the Wyrm, was the third and most powerful Prime Evil. He built a dragon empire in the fifth layer of the Underground.
